At the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry, Prof. ZHANG Hui from Xiamen University visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) on April 15,2010. During her stay, Prof. ZHANG delivered a seminar report entitled “Stereochemistry and circular dichroism spectroscopy of chiral ligand complexes” and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM.
Now Prof. ZHANG Hui is a doctoral supervisor and the deputy director of the Scientific Instrument Centre of the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in Xiamen University. For quite a long time, Prof. ZHANG has been devoting herself to the researches on inorganic chemistry and coordination chemistry. In recent years, she was mainly engaged in the researches on syntheses, separation and characterization of chiral metal complexes, and asymmetric catalysis and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy. In the past five years, Prof. ZHANG published more than 50 papers on scientific researches and teaching activities, and took part in the editing or translation of 8 monographs. Meanwhile, she is also one of the backbone teachers of the state-level excellent course “Comprehensive Chemistry Experiments” at the Department of Chemistry in Xiamen University. Until now she has received 11 awards for her outstanding achievements in teaching.
