At the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry, Prof. Shie-Ming Peng from National Taiwan University (NTU) visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) on April 6, 2010. During his stay, Prof. Peng delivered a seminar report entitled “Nanoelectronics: Molecular Metal Wires and Related Molecular Nanomaterials” and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM.
Prof. Shie-Ming Peng earned his doctoral degree from the University of Chicago in 1975. Now Prof. Peng is a full professor at NTU, Taiwan, an academician of Academia Sinica, and a fellow of the Third World Academy of Sciences. For quite a long time, Prof. Peng’s research interest has been focusing on the studies of oligonuclear metal—multiple bond and molecular metal wire. So far he has published over 500 research papers. Meanwhile, Prof. Peng is also the recipient of a series of scientific awards including the Chemistry Award from the Third World Academy of Sciences.
