At the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry, Prof. Feng Pingyun from University of California, USA, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) on June 15,2010. During her stay, Prof. FENG delivered two seminar reports entitled “Semiconducting Chalcogenide Clusters and Their Organizations” and “ Synthetic Design of Functional Porous Materials and Photocatalytic Materials”, and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM after the reports.
Prof. FENG is now working in the University of California, Riverside, with research in inorganic chemistry and materials chemistry. She earned her Ph.D from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1998 and did her postdoctoral work in the University of California at Santa Barbara during the period of 1998-2000. Currently, her research interests include porous coordination polymers (PCP) or metal organic framework (MOF) materials for gas storage;Metal chalcogenide clusters and their assembly into superlattices, and new visible-light driven photocatalysts for hydrogen production.
