At the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry, Prof. LI Zhen from Wuhan University and Prof. WANG Jiaqiang from Yunnan University, visited Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter (FJIRSM) on November 1st, 2010. During their stay, Prof. LI delivered a seminar report entitled “Design, synthesis and properties of new organic / polymer nonlinear optical materials” and Prof. WANG did a report entitled “Synthesis and Application of Bio Template Photocatalyst”, and carried out detailed discussion with the research staff of FJIRSM.

Prof. LI Zhen is now a professor and doctoral supervisor at Wuhan University. He got his Ph.D at Wuhan University in the year of 2002, was employed as an associate professor at Wuhan University in 2003. He did his postdoctoral work at the University of Hongkong under the supervision of Prof. Tang Benzhong from 2003 to 2004, and at Georgia Institute of Technology under the supervision of Prof. Seth Marder from March to August, 2010. At present, Prof. LI is mainly engaged in researches on organic / polymer nonlinear optical materials, organic / polymer sensor. So far Prof. LI has published nearly 100 research papers as the first author on some domestic and overseas scientific journals such as Angew. Chem.-Int. Ed., Adv. Funct. Mater.

Prof. WANG Jiaqiang is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Yunnan University. He got his Ph.D at the University of Leeds, UK in the year of 1999, and did his postdoctoral work at Northwest University and Kansas State University, USA, during the period of 1999 to 2003. At present, Prof. Wang is the dean of Applied Chemistry Department, director of the Institute of Catalysis and Water Control, and director of the Research Center of High-tech Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Yunnan University. His research interests are photocatalysis, selective catalytic oxidation, water treatment, biological template photocatalyst.
