　　Wood K plus is a leading research organisation in the area wood and wood-related renewable resources in Europe. Our core competences are materials research and process technology along the complete value chain – from raw material to finished products. We develop methods and basics and perform applied research on the economy-science interface, in order to enable resource-efficient management in the circular bioeconomy.  Smart wood will highlight actual and future applications and further potential to use the biggest renewable material resource as efficient as possible, from frugal innovations for small household applications to high structural applications like 300 m skyscrapers. And in between our research is also bridging the gap between basic research to industrial applications. Herfried Lammer is Area Manager responsible for smart biobased composites to deliver various functionalities, from sensoric to structural applications.
